Cherry Pipes doubles recycling capacity with new investment in Lurgan
Over the past 25 years, Cherry Pipes founder David Cherry has helped shape the plastic recycling industry across the island of Ireland. That long-standing commitment to innovation and sustainability continues today – and it’s now paying off more than ever for Cherry Pipes customers.
In a major step forward, the company has achieved full self-sufficiency in producing its own recycled feedstock – powering all eight of its extrusion lines. This gives Cherry Pipes and its customers a real edge in a global market still facing uncertainty around pricing and supply chains. With in-house control, customers can rely on stable pricing and consistent supply, no matter the pressure in the wider market.
In May 2023, Cherry Pipes commissioned a brand new Erema repelletising line at their Lurgan facility. Supplied by leading Austrian firm EREMA Engineering Recycling Maschinen und Anlagen, the system is housed in a purpose-built facility designed to futureproof operations. The investment has almost doubled the company’s recycling capacity as they move into 2024.
It’s a major step that reinforces Cherry Pipes’ position as a leader in sustainable drainage solutions – not just in Ireland, but across the UK and beyond.
